Severe drought in northern Kenya has plagued the region for 3 years now. No water for crops and livestock in this already fragile region spurs on famine and a slew of other problems. World Vision needed a team to go tell the story.
World Vision partnered with Grundfos (water pump system) to instal secure water lines and autonomous water pumps in the effected regions. People no longer pay individuals employed to monitor the water supply (who can often be corrupted and inflate prices for personal gain). Instead they use a very inexpensive card/credit system to monitor the supply and ensure everyone gets clean, safe, drinking water. We sent a photography team to document the efforts and capture the amazing system to combat this very nuanced problem.
